Postpartum Weight Loss- Why Workout With A Trainer?

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:30 am by ceo

You may be contemplating whether or not to workout with a trainer.  Here’s the pluses:

*A good trainer will teach you proper form
*A trainer will keep you committed and dedicated (why would you pay otherwise?)
*A good trainer will help you with nutrition
*A good trainer creates variety and makes working out fun
*A good trainer will teach you the skills so you can ultimately workout on your own

Minuses:

*A good trainer isn’t cheap.  Prices vary from $70-over $100/hr. depending on credentials and experience
*Once you’re hooked it can be hard to wean yourself.

If you don’t have the money to spend, start working out with a friend or group.  Having a friend or group hold you accountable will keep you on track.  Plus it can be more fun to workout with others.

Postpartum Weight Loss- “Yogini Bootcamp

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:45 pm by ceo

I started a new workshop I call “Yogini Bootcamp”.  I combine intervals of kickboxing, lunges, squats, push ups, tricep dips, and light weights and end with a yoga stretch and meditation.  I’ve found that kickboxing is great for getting your heart rate up and thus losing weight while toning and defining the buttocks, thighs, waist, hips, and upper arms.  Yoga then lengthens and defines the muscles that are worked and leaves one feeling centered, balanced, and energized to take on the obstacles in their day!  I teach a weekly class in San Diego and a longer workshop once a month.  If you are interested in more info email me at info@fitbysara.com or call 800.568.3820 and visit: http://www.fitbysara.com .

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:29 am by ceo

When most of us think of losing weight we focus on losing a certain amount of weight. Instead of focusing on the number you want to lose, think about how you want to feel from the result of losing weight. For example, by losing weight do you expect to feel lighter? Happier? or more passionate? Do you want it to be a lifelong change or temporary? If you want to lose weight and feel good while doing it take small steps towards achieving your goals. Slowly increase your exercise routine, and slowly add in healthier foods. Continually remind yourself on how good you’ll feel by losing weight and changing to a healthier lifestyle. Weight loss will be easy when you focus on how good you’ll feel by living a healthier lifestyle.

Pregnancy- Stay Connected to Your Partner

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:55 am by ceo

It’s really important that you stay connected to your husband or partner while your pregnant because once you have your baby it will be even harder to find the time to connect.  Keep your relationship a top priority by spending quality “we” time together.  Make sure to keep him in the loop with how you’re feeling both emotionally and physically.  Keep him involved in the growth of your baby by going to appointments together and have him feel your belly often.  The more connected you are before baby comes the easier it will be after baby arrives.

Postpartum Weight Loss- Picture Your Best Self

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:38 pm by ceo

If you’re wanting to lose weight, start thinking about what your best self would look and feel like vs. comparing yourself to an unrealistic image in a magazine.  For example, was there a time in your life when you felt and looked great?  Close your eyes and think back to a time when you looked and felt your best.  Take out photos from this time and look at them often.  These photos will keep keep you focused on an attainable goal.  Making your goals attainable will keep you motivated and on track.
